ULTRASOUND HANDS-ON WORKSHOP: Shoulder

 

Lecturer:

Amrish Patel, MD, PT

Amrish Patel is a Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation physician that is Board Certified
in Sports Medicine and fellowship trained in
ultrasound and fluroscopically guided injections.
His clinical focus is on musculoskeletal and spine
injuries, ultrasound evaluation and guided procedures, and
rehabilitation programs. Dr.Patel is a Fellow of the Academy
of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and member of the
AAPM&R, AMSSM and ACSM. As the owner and operator of
the Sports and Spine Institute his focus is on patient centered
care using ultrasound to help diagnosis and treatments for a
variety of MSK injuries

 

 

Workshop Overview:

The workshop will consist of live ultrasound guided
injection procedures, hands-on small group scanning for
diagnostic and simulated injections

• Review sonographic views for evaluating shoulder anatomy

• Identify common locations for common pathologic processes involving the shoulder as seen during diagnostic
musculoskeletal ultrasound evaluations in both static and dynamic evaluation

• Discuss PRP and US guided injections with PRP for shoulder pathology

Objectives:

• Review the basic anatomy of the shoulder

• Perform simulated ultrasound-guided shoulder injections
