The essentials of ultrasound workshop is the fastest way for beginners to learn ultrasound-guided nerve blocks and vascular access. Expect to be able to advance from “0” to competency. This workshop will get you the skills to operate ultrasound machines, optimize the image, and therefore be able to easier apply the new skills in common clinical applications. You will acquire needle-eye coordination in a boutique, small group setting, packed with energy, in an inspiring location
Objectives:
- Learn how to operate an ultrasound machine in a point-of-care environment
- Control key image adjustments for optimal success
- Recognize the ultrasound appearance of nerves, fasciae and blood vessels
- Demonstrate skills to guide the needle in-plane and out-of-plane with confidence

- Understanding ultrasound imaging
- Steps to optimize image quality for common applications
- Artifacts identification and correction
- Scanning techniques (PART – pressure, alignment, rotation, tilt)
- One hand and two hands scanning techniques for image stabilization
- Target identification
- Understand needle approach techniques
- Scanning on your own
- In-plane and out-of-plane needle guidance
- Test of knowledge and skills acquisition
