Introduction to Ultrasound Examination of the Knee

Konica Minolta Healthcare and Isto Biologics are proud to announce an ultrasound workshop focused on an introduction to ultrasound examination of the knee and regenerative medicine. Speaker: Jason Rand, PA, MS

Jason Rand is a Physician Assistant who works at Boston Sports & Shoulder Center with Dr. Brian McKeon, diagnosing and treating a variety of orthopedic injuries. He attended Cornell University where he completed multiple elective Orthopaedic rotations and earned his degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Jason also earned a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University where he worked as a licensed Physical Therapist, rehabbing patients with sports-related injuries. His initial clinical training took place at the New England Baptist Hospital in the sports medicine service. Jason has extensive experience with steroid and viscosupplementation injections, having injected over 12,000 joints, and often lectures around the country on intra-articular ultrasound guided injections and techniques. He also has an interest in biological injections such as platelet rich plasma and is a preceptor for several PA programs both locally and nationally. Jason also participates in ongoing clinical trials including studies sanctioned by the FDA.

Workshop Overview:

The workshop will consist of a lecture and hands-on scanning with an emphasis on:
• Hands-on scanning with models
• Basic terminology
• Autologous therapy: process and techniques
• The use of ultrasound for diagnosis and treatment
• Ultrasound image review
